Madison knew she shouldn't go to rescue horse barn and animal center. It would only cause her to be sad, seeing all the horses and animals who had been treated ill or were left and abandoned. Even though she knew these emotions would come up, she decided to go anyways. She had always wanted her own horse or pony and couldn't help but go and look around at them. She had heard of this shelter from a billboard in town. It had a paper wanting people to come and look at their animals and adopt. She decided it was a good place to look and that these animals needed a home more then some horse for sale at a breding place.
Maddy drove to this place slowly, not knowing the directions, only the address and general area of where is was located. Finally she noticed a sign with the rescue place and went in that direct. As she pulled into the parking lot and got out of her car. She knew she was glad she made herself come to the center and walked to the door. Walking in she made her way to the horse stalls. Looking at each horse and pony in order, reading the names and examine each animal. She knew if she was to get a horse, it would have to be broken and be able to be ridden. Many of the horses were hurt or hadn't been trained well.
Soon she came across the beautiful brown horse with a long black main. His name was Coco and he was a Welsh Pony. Noticing the pony was a bit tall for its bred she read the information that was listened under her name. This pony was used in shows, which was a great thing for Madison. She wanted a nicely trained horse for herself. She also noticed Coco had, had Colic. This meant she would have to probably get really good food and have to watch what the pony ate.
"Mam, do you have any extra information on this pony?" Madison asked a passing person who had on a shirt saying she worked there. "No, he came in last week. Shes pretty friendly, you can go in his stall if you want too." Madison gave the lady a friendly smiled and opened the latch on the gate. The pony turned as the door opened, knowing someone was entering. "Hey there sweetheart, your so pretty." She said in a soft voice as she walked up and patted the pony's neck. She looked over the horse slowly. Looking at her hooves, teeth, and her general shape. She realized the pony was in great shape and turned to the lady. "I think I'm going to adopt this beauty. He is in great shape." The lady smiled and motioned for Madison to follow her.
Madison did so, closing the door as she followed the women to the front desk. Of course she would have to do paper work and everything. She would also have to pick the horse up at a later time for she only had her car and not the truck and horse trailer that the barn she worked at own. She gladly signed the papers, went to promise Coco she'd be back soon, and went to get trailer to pick up her new horse. She was so worried she'd be sad and depressed after leaving the shelter, but as she left she felt over-whelmed with happiness. This cute, brown pony was her first pony.
