Shaina walked on the streets, after getting out of her car, towards the house with the kitten that was to be taken by SCARS. From what she saw, it was a hoarders case. She had always wondered why she had chosen this job against all others. If her parents could see her today, they would wonder why she surrounded herself with such sadness with all the cruelty. But then she would think of all the animals that she could save. And their work were not the kind that was lovey dovey either.
Then Shaina pushed away those thoughts. She never liked thinking of her family though she couldn't help but wonder sometimes what her father was doing. Whether she was still overseas at such an old age or if he had remarried, living happily with no thoughts of the little girl that he called Han. She finally raised her head, looking for the address that she memorized from the file. The house looked rather small from the outside and you could hear the endless barking from inside.
Shaina inhaled sharply, walked up to the doorstep and rang the bell. The sound of the ring only ignited more barking from inside the house. After waiting for a few moments, a woman opened the door and the open door let out the loud sounds. Hello. I'm from the St. Cairo Animal Rescue Shelter to get the -- Before she could finish, the woman murmured silently and invited Shaina inside. As she entered, she saw what was a mix of small cats and dogs litter the floor. She turned around and watched the woman go into another room while she stayed in what seemed to be a rather large living room. Looking around, she saw that the house was rather big compared to what it looked like outside.
As the woman came out of the room, she had a kitten in her arms. With the sighte of the small cat, Shaina bought a smile to her face before the woman handed her the cat. Even from a glance, she knew that the cat was not in the best of health. Here you go. When Shaina heard the woman speak, she smiled at her and put the kitten in the carrier that she had bought with her. Thank you. Turning away, she headed towards the door but not before looking back at the woman that was overwhelmed with all her animals. Smiling politely once more, she couldn't help but pity the woman. Like many she knew, she wanted to save every life -- kinda like her. Taking one more glance at the woman, she left with the kitten in the carrier.
